CILICIA, Tarsus. Gordian III. AD 238-244. Æ 36mm (24.38 g). Radiate and draped bust right, holding spear pointed forwards and shield on arm; shield decorated with gorgoneion between two serpents / Gordian, radiate, on horseback galloping right, thrusting spear at lion below. SNG Levante 1132 var. (reverse legend); SNG France 1722 (same dies). VF, dark brown, almost black, patina, some light roughness.
